Instant Mortgage Re-pricing Alerts

When my cell phone rings with an alert, I pick up the phone, wait a minute or two and nothing happens. Why am I not hearing the alert?

Why doesn’t my office phone pick up the alert sometimes?

How does the phone contact work?

I am unable to listen to the alerts on the website, but my media player works elsewhere. I have the latest Internet Explorer 6.0 browser. What is the problem?

I am unable to hear the entire market alert, for some reason Barry's voice cuts in and out. This is the second time (on a different day) that I have gone to the web site and experienced the same problem. My pager always cuts it short.

It is difficult to understand the audio alerts via the web because your message sounds broken up... Is the challenge on my end or yours?

The Media player will not play?

Is it possible to access written text of Barry's price alerts?

I received the email notice of an Instant Mortgage Re-pricing Alert but I didn’t get it on my phone. What happened?

I have never been able to look at the re-pricing alerts. I go to the media install and get no where. I've tried on three different computers.

When I do get an alert e-mail (the pager price alert is great!), and go to your web page to get the latest, I am unable to get either the text or voice version. I am on Outlook express and it doesn't offer either text or voice.

I have noticed that there is a time lag from when an instant re-pricing alert is recorded/ sent out and the time that I receive the information. Because of this time difference and my company's requirement that we have out locks in by 3pm CST; I do not have a lot of time to react. Is there a way to receive the updates sooner?

Your Current Alert from the Mortgage Market GuideSM is available now. [click here] I cannot open this file.

None of the "links" that come with the Barry Habib e-mails ever link-up. It thinks about it for about 30 seconds, then tells me the page is not available.

Q: When my cell phone rings with an alert, I pick up the phone, wait a minute or two and nothing happens. Why am I not hearing the alert?

A: You need to answer the phone with a greeting such as “hello” or the Arch Telecom Voice Broadcast system will not recognize that someone answered the phone. In which case, the alert will not play.

Q: Why doesn’t my office phone pick up the alert sometimes?

A: If the call is forwarded to an auto-attendant (because someone is one the line), the alert will not understand the commands and it will hang up.

Q: How does the phone contact work?

A: The Instant Mortgage Repricing Alerts are instantly delivered by voice broadcast to as many as 2 of your phone numbers... direct to your office, cell, voicemail, voicemail pager, home office, etc. As soon as an alert is sent, a copy is posted in the Members Section of the website. The alert may then be replayed and reviewed. However, alerts are not delivered daily. There is really no set schedule... they are completely dependent on current market conditions. When Barry uncovers factors that may spark a reprice (better or worse) he delivers the advice along with supporting commentary.

Q: I am unable to listen to the alerts on the website, but my media player works elsewhere. I have the latest Internet Explorer 6.0 browser. What is the problem?

A: Check the Internet Settings from within the control panel. On the Advanced tab confirm that the box is checked “play sounds.” Check the settings on your media player. Confirm that it is set to open and play .wav files. Make sure the bandwidth is set to match your connection speed. On lower connection speeds set the Buffer Play to 15 seconds. You may also need to check your Network Timeout settings and Performance Settings.

Q: The Media player will not play?

A: Check the Media Player settings. Make proper adjustments in the Media Player options tab. We have found that people who have downloaded firewalls and anti-viruses, experienced problems they didn’t have before. This is because when these new programs were installed they automatically adjusted the settings.

Q: Is it possible to access written text of Barry's price alerts?

A: There is currently no written version of the alerts, just the replay available on the website.

Q: I received the email notice of an Instant Mortgage Re-pricing Alert but I didn’t get it on my phone. What happened?

A: There are a number of reasons the call may not go through.

  • Busy – Your line was busy.
  • No Answer – There was no answer on the line.
  • Noise During Ring – There was a noisy circuit and the system was unable to detect an answer.
  • Silent Answer – The call was connected but there was no greeting.
  • Fax – The call went to a fax machine.
  • Error Recording – The number was disconnected or not in service
  • Fast Busy – Usually indicates an “all circuits busy” condition
  • Duplicate number – Another subscriber has listed the same number
  • Disallowed number – You cannot use toll free numbers

Immediately following an alert we can access a detailed call report through the Arch Telecom Voice Broadcast service. If you are experiencing difficulty receiving your alerts simply call our office and we can quickly and easily investigate the problem.

Q: I have never been able to look at the re-pricing alerts. I go to the media install and get no where. I've tried on three different computers.

A: You can't actually "look" at the alert. It is an "audio" replay of Barry's alert.

The first place to start is with your media player. Do you have speakers on your system? Is the volume up on the speakers and from within the volume control on your system tray?

Q: When I do get an alert e-mail (the pager price alert is great!), and go to your web page to get the latest, I am unable to get either the text or voice version. I am on Outlook express and it doesn't offer either text or voice.

A: Immediately following an alert we post the recording to the website then notify you by email. The email notice does not contain any of the info, neither voice nor text. To listen to a replay of the message you must log into the Members Section of the website then select Instant Mortgage Re-pricing Alerts. Since the link is to an audio file you must have a sound card, speakers and media player software on your system. There is not a text version of the alerts. So the message is actually available within your browser and not Outlook Express.

Because of this time difference and my company's requirement that we have out locks in by 3pm CST; I do not have a lot of time to react. Is there a way to receive the updates sooner?

A: The actual Instant Mortgage Re-pricing alert is sent by voice broadcast the instant Barry forecasts a change in the market. Each subscriber receives their message within 1 to 2 minutes of the start time. The email notification is also sent at that time but due to the general unreliability of the delivery process you may not get your notice as soon. We send the email to let you know the message is posted on the web site. We don’t recommend you use it as the only means of notification.

Q: Your Current Alert from the Mortgage Market GuideSM is available now. [click here] I cannot open this file.

A: The link is not actually a file. It is a link to the Members Only section sign in page on the web site. Once logged in you can listen to the alert by clicking the Instant Mortgage Re-pricing Alerts link and selecting the most current post.

Q: None of the "links" that come with the Barry Habib e-mails ever link-up. It thinks about it for about 30 seconds, then tells me the page is not available.

A: The email is your notification that the Mortgage Market GuideSM newsletter, an Instant Mortgage Re-pricing Alert or other special information has been posted and is ready to be viewed on the web site. We add the link as a convenience. The embedded link takes you right to the sign in page of the Members Only section of the web site. Some email clients may not accept the link as "hot". Which means you won't be able to click directly from the email. If you continue to have problems with the link I would suggest you add the sign in page to your browser "favorites" list. Then when you see an email you can open your browser and click right to the sign in page.
