Q:
Why do the charts show bond prices rather than interest
rates?
A: It is very important
to show market trend and direction, but it can be a bit
dangerous to indicate specific interest rates. The end
recipient of the newsletter may not understand the way
interest rates and closing costs work hand in hand, renegotiation
policies, the varied interest rates for different programs,
and the many other considerations we know enter into a
rate quote. We want to make sure you, as the Trusted Advisor,
are the one they will turn to with these questions, rather
than questioning or second guessing the rate quotes you
provide to your clients.

Q:
Some of the information is a bit technical - will my business
partners understand it, or will it be over their heads?
A: While the goal
is to make the MMG WeeklySM very readable for an audience
that may not be particularly financially savvy, there are
a few reasons for the technical information that is often
included. First, we want to make sure the MMG WeeklySM is
packed with relevant, timely, thought provoking information,
rather than bland or overly basic news your business partners
could get just about anywhere. It is also important for
your business partners to truly understand the very technical
nature of our industry, so they further appreciate the
value of having a professional like yourself watching out
for the details while staying informed.

Q:
How do I use the MMG WeeklySM most effectively?
A: Your personalized
MMG WeeklySM is designed to be easily forwarded by you every
Monday morning. We recommend that you send it to all of
your existing business partners and referral sources to
consistently add high value to these relationships, and
heighten your status as their Trusted Advisor. As you pursue
new referral sources, add these new prospects to your list
as well. Explain to your recipients that you have invested
in the MMG WeeklySM because you are committed to their success.
You want to be the one to provide them with the high quality
information they need to quickly and easily understand
what is happening in the mortgage, real estate and financial
markets.

Q:
What if my company email system "strips" HTML
documents?
A: Another great
feature of MMG WeeklySM is that we are happy to deliver each
issue to one additional email address at no charge. If
your company email system “strips” HTML documents
such that the customized banner does not appear when you
receive your issues – you may want to choose your
home email address as an alternate so that you can forward
to your business partners and referral sources with no
missing information.

Q:
Will you deliver it for me?
A: At this time
we are not offering to distribute the MMG WeeklySM for you.
If there is a demand for this service we will incorporate
into the system and make an announcement when it is available.
There will likely be a charge for this additional feature.

Q:
How do I forward it to my database?
A: You put an email
group together very easily. It’s very slightly different
depending on if you are using Outlook or Outlook Express.
Outlook: Go into your address book, click "File" in
the upper left hand corner, then "New Entry",
then "New Distribution List". You will want to
give your group a name that means something to you, such
as Business Partners or Referral Sources. Then you can
just click "Add New" to add as many addresses
as you would like.
Outlook Express: Enter address book, click "File",
and then "New Group". Again, name your group,
and then simply add each of your contacts to the group.
IMPORTANT NOTE: When sending email to the group - BE
SURE TO PUT YOUR GROUP NAME (Business Partners or Referral
Sources,
etc) in the BCC field. If you do not, all of the email
addresses in your group will be visible to all of the other
recipients and it can get very messy. Suggestion - in the
To: box, you can fill in your own address - or you can
go one step further. You can create a "fake" group
called something other than what you already used for your "real
group", and make your own email address the only one
in this fake group. For example, you could name your real
group that you put in the BCC area "Referral Partners".
You could then make the "fake" group "Valued
Business Partner", again only having you as the actual
recipient, but it will show on each email to your business
partners "To: Valued Business Partner".
When forwarding to your group, be sure to remove the "FW:" from
the subject line, and delete out the "original message" information
that will appear above your template before sending.

A: The following is a
solution provided by one of our subscribers who uses Goldmine to

Use at your own risk.

- From within the source window, select "File" from the main menu and "Save As" from the available options.
- In the resulting Save box, browse your file system to find a location for the file, then provide a name in the designated area and click "Save"
- You may close the source window at this point, if you wish.

- From "contact" drop down box enter, "Create an E-Mail"
- Enter "Customize Templates"
- Opens "Document Management Center"
- Right Click ion the "E-Mail Template" folder.

- Blank templates opens, "Left Click in body area"
- Drop down box "insert field" becomes available.
- Click on "Include a text File"
- Select the text file previously saved and type name in "Subject"
- "Save Template"
- So now I have the New Template saved as e-mail template.
To E-Mail from Goldmine
- From Drop Down Box select, "Create E-Mail"
- Select "E-Mail Merge"
- From the "Template Tab" set User to current user and select E-Mail Template (Named above)
- From The Recipient Tab, Change to "All Contacts in filter or Group" Also Change Deliver button to: "Queue for delivery"
- From the "File in History Tab"- "UNCHECK "Save the template text in history" box.
- Hit OK then e-mails populate into the "Outbox" ready to send.
To Actually Send E-Mails
- From Goldmine Mail Center;
- Click on "Outbox" You'll see all your individual e-mails
- Click on Send-all and it will automatically send each E-mail.
- From here if there's is a problem it only affects the problem email not the entire batch.

Q:
Is there a way to convert the MMG WeeklySM into the gmt format ACT! uses?
A: Rather than go through a big conversion process every week, you can link your ACT! email address book right to your regular Outlook/Express system, so that via Outlook you can access your contacts already set up in ACT!, but simply forward the MMG WeeklySM right out of Outlook so that it will keep the original look and you won't have to try to cut and paste.
The steps in ACT! are: Edit - Preferences - Email - then Email system set up. This will walk you through an easy wizard that will allow you to link your ACT! address book right to Outlook/Express or whatever email system you use. You will then be able to forward the weekly directly from there.
